Do I need a county permit as well as SROA approval?
Often, yes. SROA reviews the design for the community's guidelines, while Deschutes County handles structural permitting and inspections. We manage both tracks so they move together.
Can you reuse my existing deck footings?
Frequently, yes. If your existing footings meet current code, reusing them can save real money. We assess the structure during the consultation and tell you honestly what can be kept.

This is the number that makes Sunriver different. At roughly 4,200 feet, the ground snow load is more than double downtown Bend and nearly triple downtown Redmond. A deck framed to Redmond assumptions does not belong here.
Read this correctly: pg is the ground snow load, not the load your deck is designed to carry. Oregon sets a 20 psf minimum roof snow load plus a rain-on-snow surcharge, so a lower ground figure never means a lighter structure — it is one input among several.
